survival mom button prepared2 Stay Warm This Winter With Canned HeatI just became acquainted with Erich, the host of Tactical Intelligence, and have been browsing through his terrific website.  With winter in full swing and having kids who love to ski, I know we’ll be doing a lot of winter driving, and his video demonstrating how to make a survival stove for warmth caught my attention.

Here’s the video, and if you’d like to read more about the process, along with step by step instructions, visit his site here.  Not only can you get more info about this stove, but he offers product reviews and lots of ‘How To’s', including how to make homemade sanitary pads.  Whatta guy!!

  2. WHOA!!! Don't try to pour more alcohol into the can when it's still burning, you probably would end up with a flaming bottle in your hand, spilling it out into your car and all over yourself…..this is a good device but make sure it's out befor you refill it.

  3. Don't pour the alcohol in if it's lit, make sure to extiguish the flames befor pouring it in, alcohol sometimes burns with an almost invisible flame and as flammable as it is you will catch the bottle on fire as you pour it in.

  4. He certainly missed telling folks NOT to try and refill their ‘stove’ while it’s lit! Easy enough to do, I can’t think of everything doing a video either. Other than that, good video.

  5. there is a printed disclaimer during the part where he says to extinguish the flame before adding fuel. unless this was not in the video others saw. i certainly read this while watching the video.

  6. When you mention cotton balls to use as tinder with petroleum jelly-or to use to stuff the can in the video (instead of TP). Are you referring to pure cotton balls or synthetic?

    • They have to be pure cotton.

  7. I love this idea. I have used this many times with paper towels. Keep up the great work. Off to the dollar store to restock….
