Grab-and-Go Binder Supplies

These are the supplies used and recommended by Lisa for assembling a Grab and Go Binder. If you’re looking for the link to her hands-on workshop, you can find it here.

Small, portable scanner — We cannot recommend this highly enough. If you’ve ever procrastinated scanning something because the process is too complicated, this is the product for you!

3-Ring Binder — at least 1.5 inches

Fireproof & Waterproof 3-Ring Binder with zipper

3-Hole Punch

Plastic page protectors

Plastic photo protectors for a 3-ring binder — No need to buy these unless you’ll be adding physical photos to your binder.

Zippered pockets for a 3-ring binder — You’ll probably want two of these. One for supplies like pens and a thumb drive and a second one for miscellaneous items like Social Security cards, business cards, and photos. This size comes in handy, too, or this style.

3-Ring Binder Dividers — If you want something more colorful and decorative, buy pretty folders like these, cut in half, and use a 3-hole puncher so you can add them to your binder. You’ll need at least a dozen dividers.

Label-Maker — Printed labels just make everything look more professional. These are handy for the tabs on dividers like these.

USB Flash/Thumb Drive — As part of the Grab-and-Go Workshop, you’ll receive a digital file with a file system similar to your binder. Once your documents are scanned, you can drag and drop them into these digital files and then save to a flash/thumb drive. A flash drive with more memory will allow you to add photos, geneaology records, and more.
