More than 20 years ago, I learned this tip from a roommate, and now I’m using it so my family always has a crisp, healthy salad. Now when my kids say they’re hungry, I say, “Go eat a salad!” For a main dish, we add whatever cooked meat is in the fridge, along with some cheese and hard boiled eggs.
Super quick and super easy because I only have to make a large salad every 7-10 days.
All you’ll need is a large bowl with a snap-on lid, 2 paper towels, and a salad.
Thanks for the nice tip. I’ll be trying this later today.
No way is it this easy! My kids love salad but it seems to always go bad after a couple of days – I can’t wait to try this! They will be so excited! Thanks for the tip!
I <3 you. I've been living alone for the past month and i have had to throw away waaaay too much salad. Thanks for the tip 😉
Wow! What a great tip! No matter what I do, I end up throwing out lettuce, etc for salads. I cannot wait to give this a whirl!
sounds good, will have to try it
Man, that is such a brilliant idea. Never thought of it! And SO healthy for kids. I have a problem with junky snacks, too.
This also works well for large chopped salad mixes bought at warehouse stores.
Can you use microfiber instead of paper towel. I never have paper towels in the house.
One time I used a thin cotton kitchen towel when I was out of paper towels. Give the microfiber a try!
