Does your emergency kit look like this?
My Latest Videos
Many of your kits/bags look like this:
An emergency kit, some might call theirs a bug-out bag, is an essential in every home. No, it doesn’t magically make you fully prepared for the ultimate disaster, but it’s a collection of the handiest and most versatile gear and tools to meet your need in most any emergency.
If you have kids or grandkids in the house, you know what it’s like to urgently need something like a pair of scissors or a band-aid only to find that the little ones have, once again, made it disappear. A well-equipped and organized pack can be stored in a hidden place or hung from the ceiling for that matter, so you have exactly what you need when you need it!
Over the years I’ve seen many, many different types of emergency kit, and I’ve created a few of my own. One thing I quickly learned is that no two kits should be exactly alike because no two people or no two families are exactly alike.
Some of the variables that make you and your family different from any other?
- Physical fitness
- Health issues
- Ages of each individual
- Special needs
- Geographical location
- Skills, knowledge, and training
For example, in my family, I’m fortunate to have an older teenage son who stands at 6’2″, weighs 230 pounds, and I can count on him to carry extra supplies and gear if we should ever need to make a quick evacuation or trek a few miles on foot.
Things were different 10 years ago when we started prepping. At that time my son was just 7 years old, and although he’s always been sturdy and determined, in no way could he have carried the size and weight of today’s backpack.
Your own circumstances have also changed over the years and the kit you purchased or put together 5 or 10 years ago needs to be updated desperately — if you can even find it!
But, if you’re like the majority of people in every nation and walk of life, you don’t even have a flashlight with functional batteries, much less a fully equipped kit!
I’m going to help you change all that!
Register for my FREE Survival Mom Bootcamp Challenge
Beginning on Wednesday, January 23, and running for 5 days, I’m teaching live, free video lessons to walk you through building your best-ever emergency kit.
I’ve broken the process down into small manageable and frugal steps that will inspire you to create your own emergency kit that suits your unique circumstances.
However, survival and being prepared isn’t just about having STUFF. More importantly, it’s all about how you think about your stuff and whatever scenario in which you find yourself. I’ll be talking about that, too!
How does this challenge work?
For 5 days in a row, I’ll be on Facebook and Instagram LIVE at 11 a.m. Central and on Sunday at 7 p.m. Central. These sessions will be recorded and the replays will be available right here on the blog each day.
Along with the live video classes, you’ll receive a free daily printable. Could be a checklist, a tip sheet, or a list of Dollar Store finds. Each one is worth saving, printing, and using.
An integral part of the Bootcamp Challenge is an exclusive, closed Facebook group. Already members are introducing themselves, there’s a live chat going most evenings, and that’s where you can share your challenge progress each day by posting pictures of your own emergency kits as you create them.
In a word, this is going to be FUN and PRACTICAL. I guess that’s two words!
Oh, and FREE!
I want YOU to join me and hundreds of others as we work together to create emergency kits/bug out bags that are “just right” for you and your family.
In a nutshell:
- Daily video lessons scheduled at 11 a.m. Central
- Video lessons will appear on this Facebook page and Survival Mom Instagram
- All videos will be available as recorded replays on this page
