The Survival Mom is a private information service and is obliged to post some disclaimers and provisos, annually. These notices are current as of August 1, 2016, and remain in force unless later specifically revoked or modified by the owner of the blog, Lisa Bedford.
Advertising and Reviews
Per FTC File No. P034520: The Survival Mom accepts cash-paid advertising. To the best of my knowledge, as of the date of this posting, none of our advertisers that sell the products mentioned in this blog have solicited The Survival Mom or our staff to write any paid reviews or endorsements, nor have they provided me any free or reduced-price gear in exchange for any reviews or endorsements. Lisa Bedford is not a stock holder in any company. However, The Survival Mom blog does benefit from sales through the Amazon affiliate program. If you click on an Amazon link in any articles and then “click through” to order ANY product from Amazon.com (not just the ones listed in our catalog), then we will earn a modest sales commission. This does not impact the price charged by Amazon in any way.
Occasionally, the product lines of some advertisers may overlap. I have always believed in offering choices to my readers when it comes to products and companies that I trust. I do not have any exclusive or non-compete agreements with any companies.
Not a financial advisor
Very occasionally, articles will be posted on the subject of budgeting, purchases, precious metals, or other financial related topics. Lisa Bedford, nor any of the contributing writers to The Survival Mom, are paid investment counselors or advisors. Lisa is not employed by any company, nor is she a stockholder in any company.
Not a public accommodation
As a private information service, The Survival Mom is not a “public accommodation” and is therefore exempt from all Federal regulations, including the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
Not a doctor nor an attorney
Lisa Bedford is not a doctor, nor does she give medical advice. Occasional advertisements for any medical device, treatment, drug, or food supplement is solely the responsibility of the advertiser and are in no way endorsed or accredited by Lisa Bedford or The Survival Mom blog, or its principals. The Survival Mom blog is not responsible for the use or misuse of any product advertised on this blog site.
Lisa Bedford is not a lawyer, and doesn’t give legal advice. Occasionally laws, regulations, and case citations may be mentioned in blog articles or weekly email newsletters. In no way do they constitute legal advice. Laws change frequently. Consult a lawyer if you have legal questions. If you choose to act upon the details cited in the blog without doing your own research, then you do so at your own risk.
Many different voices
The Survival Mom blog has regular, paid contributing authors, and an effort is made to confirm the accuracy or reliability of what is published in the blog. However, it should be only one of many sources of information that you must test against standard references and compare against your local climate and conditions, as well as your local laws. (See: “Accuracy, Safety, and Legality,” below.)
Emails from The Survival Mom blog are sent to subscribers on a weekly basis and occasionally will promote a special event or product sale. Your privacy is guaranteed by the email services used, Aweber and MadMimi. We will never knowingly share them.
Right of non-association
The Survival Mom is an entirely private information service that is the sole property of Lisa Bedford and made available to others as a form of free personal expression under her de jure Preamble Citizen’s right as later guaranteed in the First Article in Amendment to the Constitution. The Survival Mom is not a “public accommodation” and it is preemptively exempt from any forced or coerced accommodation, via legislation (or bureaucratic interpretation thereof) or any dictate, directive, or decree by any agency of government or by any non-government organization, or by any individual under any future “Fairness Doctrine” or similar rule. Lisa Bedford reserves the right to refuse service (to wit: to refuse posting, linking, or mention of anyone or anything, at my sole discretion) to any person, agency, corporation, or other entity. These reservations are made for the sake of maintaining sound business practices, competitiveness, and to maintain the owner’s moral and religious principles.
