The extreme fluctuations in weather patterns plays are significant part in seasonal harvest. And Indigomom has it right too. The bees have lost their sustenance. The rest of the 7 reasons for prepping are sobering. The problem with the people in the State of Oblivion is failure to see the big picture and connect all the global 'dots.' Ravenworlf has it right. We need genetic diversity in our food for guaranteed sustainabiliy and I've always thought hive collapse is a direct result of us "tinkering" with mother nature.
