That Newsweek article brought a lot of attention to my blog. It's hard to tell if it's because I'm a freak to most people (Wow! A survivalist who's a mom! A mom who's a survivalist!) or if there truly is a big movement out there toward preparedness and a huge interest in it. I'm preparing, HA!, to offer some workshops in my area, and that will give me an idea of the level of interest that's out there. Thanks for the kind words, Raven. :o)

I know!!! It really has been just in the past 70 years, or less, that we have gotten away from just about any thought of the basics of survival. Thanks for the compliment.

I thought Virginia was just an excellent interviewer, and Jessica did a great job of not stereotyping preppers.

the odd thing is that not to long ago having a pantry stocked with food was the norm. Now that there is a supermarket on every corner with stocked shelves it has become too easy to just pick up groceries every couple days. Of course people like us ask ourselves what happens when those stores don't open or those shelves are bare. Great interview.

I must admit that my family does not have as much food stored as you. Why people would question your choice to stock that is strange. Could it be because it makes them notice how vulnerable they are and not prepared? Your blog is a daily inspiration to me. I just did a podcast on Stocking Up in Moderation, not hoarding. I'm trying to carry the torch too. All the best Lisa.
