And the Winners Are…
When I announced TheSurvivalMom’s comment contest, I had no idea what I was in for! I’ve tried to follow the policy of answering every comment, but ladies, I just couldn’t keep up with you!!
Bill and Janet Liebsch have generously volunteered to donate four copies of It’s a Disaster, so four of you will be receiving this book in the mail!
The winners are:
Katzien with 15 comments
rightwingmom with 15 comments
juju_mommy with 16 comments,
and in First Place, LizLong with 30 comments!
Congratulations and thank you so much for livening up my blog with your incessant chatter, suggestions, and support for other readers! I hope you each enjoy your copy of It’s A Disaster, and that it proves to be a helpful resource for you and your families. Please email me at lisa@thesurvivalmom.com with your mailing addresses in order to receive your prizes.
If you didn’t win this time around, you can purchase an e-book version of It’s a Disaster for only $2.50 or a hard copy for $14.99.
To everyone who commented, thank you so much! There were more than 110 comments, and each one contained something of value to the SurvivalMom community. Please continue being a part of the conversation here, whether it’s a tried and true tip you want to pass along, a question, a frustration, or some glorious prepper discovery you’ve just made. We want to hear it all!
I have another contest coming up later this month with a Grand Prize worth more than $60. The only hint I can give you is this: study the blog posts on my “List of Lists” page.

A hearfelt thanks to SurvivalMom for her savvy and inspiration. And you other commentors have great advice too. I'm well on my way with my own plan. Have a great day!

SurvivalMom,
Your site has become a staple for me! It is so valuable and reassuring.
I look forward to gathering and sharing more insights with you and the other people on your site!
Prepping and self-reliance are insurance. We're only one generation away from when these practices were considered "normal."
Thanks, Cindy. Your comment made my day.

It's scary how quickly, in just one generation, a skill or area of knowledge can be lost, but fortunately, as you put it, we can turn that around for the next generation.
Heck, I'd say even more than one generation in my area! I grew up eating fresh veggies and fruit from the garden due to having both sets of grandparents farm (one on a smaller scale and one set provided the majority of their food that way). My grandparents still can like crazy. But most of my generation (I'm 27) did NOT have that exposure. I doubt they'd know what to do to provide ANY food for themselves much less all. I have a small garden and my (just turned) 3 year old has been out there "helping me" since she could walk. Its small-scale but I'm glad to have the opportunity to give her that exposer and to teach her the few things that I know.
Looking forward to getting it! Thanks.
I got it shortly after my last post. Thanks!
