Update: Trucking company shuts its’ doors
Last week my post about the “just in time” shipping method received a lot of attention in the blogosphere, and now Tom Martin at American Preppers Network has posted this about a large trucking company in Oklahoma, Arrow Trucking, which suddenly shut down a few days before Christmas. This move left some 1,400 Arrow drivers stranded around the country without valid fuel cards, unable to get home.
As a truck driver himself, Tom comments, “Now is the time to get prepared folks. As a driver myself, I can see a cross section of the entire economy right from the windshield of my truck, and despite the lies our media and elected officials tell you, things are getting worse and will continue to get much worse. Day after day after day I hear and see stories with my own eyes of companies going under. For each company that goes under, that’s less freight to be hauled and less jobs to be had. The fewer jobs, the less money, the less money, the less products purchased, the less products purchased, the more companies go under. We are in a vicious irreparable cycle right now. The question is not if, but when…look out around the stack of dominoes for a minute to see how much time you got left and get prepared now if you aren’t already.”
I want to give Tom a big, “Thank You!” for his insider’s point of view as well as posting this timely article.

Another thanks to Tom, things are going to get interesting although many of the people out there still have their heads in the sand. May everyone reading have a productive and happy 2010 in the midst of life's challenges.

That's my wish as well, Voltage. It's possible we may still see a temporary uptick in our economy, and I hope that happens. When it does, my hope is that most Americans won't be fooled into thinking it's, "laissez les bons temps rouler". Let the good times roll. I hope we'll all be smarter, will spend far less, save more, pay off debt. The more individuals and families who are on solid ground financially, the better the future looks, no matter what happens. If they have buckets of beans, rice, wheat and a garden, so much the better. Happy New Year to you and yours!

Lady, it's even worse than that. Looks like Yellow Trucking is on the ropes, courtesy of our old friend, Goldman Sachs:

and as I mentioned, I sent your brilliant and useful blogpost to his site:

Thanks, Daisy! I hate to hear that another trucking company is in trouble. The big company here in Arizona is Swift. I haven't heard, yet, how they are doing financially.
