Survival Quote of the Day
I’m not organized enough to come up with a “Quote of the Day” every single day, but I came across this one and had to share it with you.
“If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my children may have peace.”
Thomas Paine

I'm a mother. Ya know, I'm a MOTHER! When I look at my kids I see babies and cute little toddlers hanging onto my pantlegs begging for marshmallows. I'm deluded, ya know. My kids have kids. I know my boys are men and my girls are women, but my heart sees babies.
Sometimes, despite this adulthood, they seem terribly silly and childish. THEY NEED ME, my heart cries.
But really. They're as adult as I am. I've taught them well (I hope). Sometimes they're terribly competent and able. They're all already making plans to take care of me and their father if we are old and unable and something terrible happens.
I still wish they didn't have to. I wish that I'd forever stay young enough to take care of them. I wish they still begged for marshmallows.
