What do you plan to do, “someday”?  Plant a garden and grow your own vegetables?  Sign up for a martial arts class?  Begin storing extra food?  Learn how to can your own food?

We all have “someday goals,” and it’s fun to dream and plan for the future, but if you believe, like I do, that the future is more uncertain now than it’s ever been in our lifetimes, then it’s  time to take a second look at these goals and determine which require immediate action.  Which “someday goals,” are “survival goals?”

I hate to pull weeds and dread the thought of all the hard work that will be required to turn a corner of our backyard into a productive garden, but the thought of not having access to fresh produce spurs me on.  I’ve already told you how I dread going to the gym, but knowing that my survival may someday depend on how strong and fit I am is enough to get me off the couch.

Take one goal at a time, think about how you can put it into action, and then just do it.  There are plenty of actions that aren’t urgent, but if you’re in a preparedness mode, this isn’t the time to procrastinate.

  1. Doing, is the important thing. Setting goals is great, but doing them consistently is the key. Also…not doing…like not eating the fatty foods you used to. I'm big on working out or getting some type of excercise. Staying active. if the stink hit's the fan, we will all perform according to how good of shape we are in. Sorry to say that but it's probably true. So my suggestion, work on fitness goals and put them near the top of your list.
