Hi Received the oven in good shape. Couple of things I noticed when using it for the first time. One, the adjusting rod in the back will not extend far enough to alien it to the sun. You have to prop it up with something. Of course a few weeks will solve that problem when the sun starts to head north. Two, if you look down in the oven and adjust it so there is no shadow visible that means it is aligned perfectly with the sun and you can see the temp jump up. Being on the frugal side it is a real trip to bake for free. lol. But the great thing is knowing you can cook if there is no electricity.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing this recipe. It is challenging to find recipes that work for everyone's taste. Looking forward to trying this recipe. Are you using non-instant or instant powdered milk? And what type of cooking oil works best, canola, safflower etc. ?

From Chrystalyn: The Sun Oven reflectors have a notch cut in them to allow a place for the wind to blow through. They are also flexible. I know from experience that even if they do get a little dinged up it still works great! (I dropped mine and have some large dents in mine.) There is a leg in the back that allows for angling towards the sun, it is suggested that you can cut a 2x4 about 13" or so, the width of the oven, then drill a hole in the center to stick the leg in and that
will add a great amount of stability. Hope that helps.
