Teach Your Children Wilderness Survival

I'm always surprised when I meet people who don't know the survival basics, because most of that is something I learned as a kid. Adults who don't know how to build a campfire, even with matches available, just confuse me. It's like not knowing how to walk. But if you don't teach your kids they probably won't know. A lot of what I thought I knew came from movies and wasn't right. The Army straightened me out on some of that, but the rest I learned later on. It's not something just for kids, families and individuals should do it too. Takes more than reading a book or watching a video, you have to get out and try these things.
