VITAL SURVIVAL LINK: A ‘time bomb’ for world wheat crop

I believe that the best way to combat fear is to be proactive.  Here’s a topic that’s in the news right now that you should be aware of.   A wheat fungus, Ug99, or stem rust, poses an enormous threat to wheat production around the world.  Wheat, in one form or another is a major staple of diets around the world.  Think bread, tortillas, pasta, cereals, animal feed and much, much more.  The loss of massive amounts of animal feed has extremely scary implications alone.

Now would be a good time to begin stocking up on wheat and other grains if you haven’t taken this step yet.  Learn how to grind your own wheat and use your freshly ground flour for your baking.  While you’re at it, practice making different bread products, such as tortillas, fry bread, and flat breads.  These breads don’t require electricity should you ever find yourself in an emergency situation with just you, your wheat, a frying pan, and a campfire!  By the way, as you read through the recipes at these links, make a list of what additional ingredients you need for your long-term storage, such as yeast and shortening.  Be sure to print out directions for grinding wheat, types of wheat, wheat recipes, and anything else you come across on the topic to include in your Survival Mom Binder.
