I remember hatchet! I read that in middle school.

My side of the mountain! I've been trying to remember the name of that book for a month! I read that book a LONG time ago. I loved it so much, and I read the sequels too. I have some really old copies that used to be my dad's - they are around here somewhere :/ I can't find them now. Thank you, for reminding me of the title so I can find another copy!

I keep hearing that college scholarships for sharpshooters go unrewarded every year. A free education is just one of the reasons I want my kids to learn to shoot straight. :o)

THANK YOU for these titles! My third grader is reading The Little House series in his Christian school this month, and the thers will be on the shelf after a trip to the library. I am blessed with two good readers (and two dead-eyes with their .22 LRs!)

May I suggest, THE DANGEROUS BOOK FOR BOYS (even for girls) as well.

***Too, wishing I had never read PATRIOTS***

You're right! There are so many great adventures out there for kids to read about, and most adventures have self-reliance as a central theme.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, FernWise!
